Be creative and add other spice mixtures such as chili, curry or others. Imagination knows no bounds. Those spicy nuts are an ideal last-minute present for good friends.

Duration: 20 minutes

Amount: approx. 1 kilogram of nuts

Ingredients:

1 kilogram of mixed nuts (e.g. almonds, pecans, cashews, walnuts and hazelnuts as well as pine and sunflower seeds)

4 tablespoons of good local blossom honey

2 tablespoons of frying olive oil

2 teaspoons of paprika powder

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon granulated garlic

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper

2 teaspoons oregano, dried

2 teaspoons thyme, dried

Alternative spices: granulated onions, chili powder, curry

Method:

1. Put the honey with the oil and the spices in a saucepan and heat gently until the honey is dissolved.

2. Put the nuts in a large bowl with the honey-spice mixture and mix well with a spoon.

3. Spread the nuts evenly on two lightly greased trays.

4. Preheat the oven to 200 °C and roast the nuts for about 10-20 minutes. But always make sure to keep an eye on them, so that they don't turn too brown.

5. Remove from the oven, allow to cool and fill into screw-top jars.
